Crystal Palace Are The Only Unbeaten Team Left In The Premier League

Crystal Palace

Liverpool’s perfect Premier League run came to an end with a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace on Saturday. The Reds pushed forward with their usual energy and created chances, but Palace stayed disciplined at the back and punished them on the break. Goals from Palace’s forwards exposed gaps in Liverpool’s defence, and despite pulling one back, Slot’s side couldn’t find a late equaliser. The result leaves Liverpool with work to do as the title race begins to take shape.

Crystal Palace are showing they’re on the right path this season. With a solid backline and three clean sheets already in the campaign, they’ve built the kind of structure that makes them tough to beat. This win over Liverpool not only boosts their confidence but also strengthens their push towards a UEFA Conference League. Palace are combining defensive discipline with timely goals, and that balance is helping them climb the table step by step.

For Liverpool, the defeat showed that even the best attacks can be slowed down by a disciplined team. Crystal Palace, meanwhile, continue to impress and look like a side worth watching if they can keep up this steady form.

Glasner’s Post-Match Press Conference

Oliver Glasner said Crystal Palace’s dramatic late win over Liverpool shows exactly “why we love football.” The 2-1 victory was not only memorable but also moved the Eagles to within three points of the Premier League leaders.

Oliver Glasner couldn’t hide his joy after Crystal Palace’s last-gasp win over Liverpool. “It’s the emotions,” he smiled. “I told the players before, after our penalty shootout win, that now I’m over 50 they should look after my heart and make it a little easier! But this is football moments like this, in front of our fans and the Holmesdale stand, are just special. I almost ran to the players, but I remembered last time I got a yellow card and had to pay a fine… and my wife wasn’t too happy either!”

Glasner called the first half where Palace outplayed Liverpool and led through Ismaïla Sarr “the best half since my staff and I arrived.” He admitted being worried with only a one-goal lead, knowing Liverpool’s habit of late comebacks. “The second half was tough, Liverpool put us under real pressure. Dean Henderson saved us a couple of times.”

What pleased him most was Palace’s reaction after conceding a 90th-minute equaliser. “Many teams would have dropped their heads, but we pushed forward and found the winner. That makes me so proud.” He also highlighted the impact of his substitutes: “Will Hughes, Jeff Lerma, and Eddie Nketiah all played a part in the winning goal. It was a true team effort.”

Glasner finished by saying he was “really proud and delighted” with his side’s performance.

Winning always feels good but beating the champions makes it even more special.

Crystal Palace may now stand as the only unbeaten team in the Premier League this season, but Oliver Glasner kept his focus firmly on what comes next — Thursday’s UEFA Conference League trip to Dynamo Kyiv.

“We’re still in September, so nothing changes,” he said. “Last year at this stage we hadn’t even won a game in the league, but we ended the season with a points record and an FA Cup. That’s why we stay humble. We take the good emotions, use them for recovery, and keep building on them every day.”

Glasner praised his players’ first-half display and fighting mentality, while also stressing there are areas to improve. “It’s great to win, and it’s even better to win against the champions. But in five days, we face Kyiv. The players will recover now, take Monday off, and from Tuesday we push again to prepare for another win.”
